Estonia is easy to reach from Russia, European and other countries.

By air
Tallinn airport offers direct connections with many cities in Europe and in the world including Moscow, Kyiv and Riga. The airport is located 4 km from the centre. Taxi from the airport to the centre costs about 5 euros.
Coaches run from the airport to the centre, the coach station and the passenger harbour. Special bus service operates between the airport and the main hotels.


By bus
International coach service connects Tallinn with Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Riga, Vilnius, Kyiv, Kaliningrad, Minsk and many other cities in Europe.


By car Documents required: In order to drive in Estonia you must possess a valid international driving license. A compulsory automobile liability insurance is required in Estonia. Green cards are valid. If you have no Green card a local insurance can be obtained on the border. The insurance will be valid solely during the period of your stay. No additional insurance is required for tourists from the Baltic states.
Speed: the speed limit in residential areas is 50km/h, that in rural areas is 90 km/h. In certain parts in the summer the limit reaches 100km/h.
Keep dipped headlights on at all times! Dipped headlights should be on 24 hours a day.
Fines. It is not advisable to try to reach „an agreement” with the road police since it can be taken for a bribery attempt. Fine payment is made only by a bank transfer. Fine details are promptly transferred into a common computer system and while crossing the border the number plate of your automobile will be checked with regards to possible road traffic offence, at which point problems can arise.


By ferry
Estonia has intense ferry service with all Scandinavian and Baltic countries.
A ferry ticket to Finland (about 3.5 hrs) costs from 294 EEK (about 18 euros). That to Sweden (about 16 hrs of travel) costs from 650 EEK (about 42 euros). One can also travel to Helsinki by high-speed powerboat. The ticket costs from 235 to 425 EEK (15-28 euros) depending on the time of departure, travel time 1 hour and 40 minutes.
A ferry connection between the island of Saaremaa in Estonia and Latvian town Ventspils operates in the summer.

By helicopter
Tallinn – Helsinki helicopter service. There are 10-15 flights every day. Travel time is only 18 minutes.
